E-n-O ... How much do I need?

I had my E&O coverage with the Georgia Independent Agents Association any my rate from $1,500 per year to $3,500 per year. I paid it but the next year I got coverage through Arch Insurance Company for $1,300 per year. I am still with Arch and my renewal rate in April, 2025 is $1,600 per year. I have been pleased with Arch.

If the potential E&O claim is handled directly with the client by the agency, can the agency file a claim for reimbursement thru E&O? if this makes sense

highly unlikely. E&O carrier would likely want their legal release forms signed as settlement in full. Plus, most E&O policies have a deductible you have to cover.

Lastly, most policies require you to notify the E&O carrier when you believe there is any chance of a potential claim & then most prohibit you from talking directly to the other party as they want their legal team doing all the talking.
