Rumor is that we (we being - all of us) won't be re-certifying and offer Envision for 2021.

Rumor is also that there is potential that we won't get renewals... which, while only a bit less than $40/per, it adds up when you have a few hundred with them.

I hope that's not true - we brought them the business and earned every cent of our renewals.

Anyone hear anything new/different?

Wouldn't it make sense to keep paying renewals as long as they're active clients? Otherwise, why wouldn't agents just flip them?

It's a lot of work to flip a few hundred PDP's when time is already short during AEP

I send a letter that hits around Oct 1st every year, advising them if they want to make a change to please let me know. I include a SOA and drug questionnaire to fill out.

Most stay put. If I have to this year I'll follow up with a call and spend Sundays running drug plans.

Aetna just sent this email. I wonder how it will compare?

2021 SilverScript® PDP highlights — New plan option

You'll have three nationwide SilverScript® PDP options to select from in 2021, including the NEW SilverScript SmartRx, with an average premium of $7.38 — it's anticipated to be one of the lowest monthly premiums in the marketplace.

Plus, in 2021, all SilverScript PDP plans will be branded under the Aetna Medicare Solutions brand family. This will help create a more seamless customer experience for members.

I went on a SilverScript PDP the first year I was on Medicare. Then they raised their prices, in my state anyway, a lot. The marketing message above suggests at least the potential for another future flap like the Humana WalMart one many folks were fussing about this past year.

Envision cancels agent contracts

Last week, Envision indicated that they are changing direction in 2021 and will not be renewing their contracts with FMO or downline agents. This means that independent agents no longer have the ability to sell Envision products. They will not be using any external broker distribution in 2021.

Envision was open to feedback that we have provided, which is delaying the timing of the written communication as they consider their message. We suggested to Envision ways they can compliantly pay brokers renewals for in-force policyholders; while not actively marketing (also known as "servicing agents"). The final decision has not been made, but at this time, renewal commissions will not be paid. Communication from Envision will be distributed to you directly in the upcoming weeks.

It is our recommendation that you get in front of this with your current Envision clients and prepare yourself for AEP. Please remember that new products cannot be discussed until Oct 1, 2020.

Looks like they will continue to pay commissions thankfully. I wrote over 600 of them and it would be a big hit if they didn't.
