I have a client more interested in bigger coverage then permanent coverage...although I still will present him WL on the f/u appt. But for now, are there any term companies that would offer this client a policy....

67/NT/M
Diabetic about 10yrs on insulin, no complications or problems assoc with it
5'8"/200lbs
HBP, but not sure of meds or how severe yet
Wants 50k, was quoted $178/mo, 10yrs

This wasnt the typical FE client, son is doing most of the work for the dad, and he only had 5min when I door knocked....Assurity & Foresters (my 2 main term companies I use) wont take him. Rather I find a good term product for him or not, Im going to push a WL policy for 35k for $200 with Foresters or GPM (he wanted to stay under $200).

Anything out there cover this?

You might want to try Americo simple issue term. I haven't sold it but looked at it and the rates are really good and anything under 250k does not require a mouth swab. Anything 250k or over does. The way I understood it it was like Final Expense underwriting.

I believe Transamerica has one as well.

The Term at Trans will be fully underwritten as with most Term Carriers. Table 4-8 because of the Insulin Diabetes. Depends on the Units/Day for which Table and other considerations.

Same problem at Americo, the Diabetes is a YES on the Application for the Simple issue term (CBO) plans and will result in a table rating that may result in a decline.

United Home Life has some term products for diabetics. They just came out with some new term products, so you may need to check new guidelines.

Thought maybe Columbian would help but they only go to age 65. You might want this for future reference through Age 65, SI term male, NT is $102.23 for 50K 15 year term and unless I misread the app they will accept insulin dependent diabetics as long as the diabetes was diagnosed after age 35 and there are no complications.

Insulin is a knock out on the term.

If it's controlled diabetes there is a lot of options but at a table rating. The key here that once you are going term or fully UW is get all the information and diagnosis of any current condition. I always ask about heart, stroke, BP, cancer, or kidney issues first and go from there with history going back 10 years to spark any information because it will come up with medical records and a paramed. If anything you will find out which product he will be best suited for and give him all the options is what I do regardless if term or whole life is better it depends on many factors.

I would give him all the honest options he has and that will greatly depend on his health ask him those questions about do you want to own or rent insurance? One of Jd's many nuggets:yes:

Thx guys....I talked him into WL for his dad, and he now sees the light. I got a f/u set & its going to be 35k with Foresters or GPM, both are about $200/mo.
