Just got my first batch of DM leads in today and plan to go and start knocking them tomorrow. I know after looking at the text on DM card that some of these folks are going to say "I thought this was free." What is your normal response to this line?

You are going to have a rough time. You seem to have already judged them. Wait til you pull up and the ran down house looks abandon. Will you even bother getting out of your car?

On a positive note, I would go in assuming they know it will cost. Chuckle if they say they thought it was free. Tell them nothing is free and when they die it will be free to them but it will leave their family in serious debt

Pretty spot on. He should have no preconceived notions about why they sent the card in, just go in, find the reason, find the need, find the budget, boom, applications filled out and done.

My normal response: I like to give them a lil slap to the face MAFIOSO style and say in a Joe Pesci voice..."Iz you STOOPID"? After the initial shock of it they will invite you in 75% of the time and hear what you have to say.

Good luck tomorrow and make sure you share your results!

True, I'm due to be corn holed this week, wish me luck:idea:

Ummmmm, do you have a different definition of "corn holed" than I do, or are you on a sleepover with Ben this week?:bump:

Almost sounds like you're looking forward to it. Must be a Southern thang. Good Luck with that there "corn holing"! LOL

Just mentioning it since one of them underlined "free information" several times, lol.

Well, the info IS free (the insurance costs money). Just agree with them that it is free, because it is. Say something like, "That's why I'm here, Ma'am. My job is to get you this free information and also answer any questions, if you have any. I promise to be brief. May I come in?".

p.s.- don't let them put you on the defensive with this "free" stuff. We know the info is free (except to us), we work for nothin' all the time.
