"It is better to have somebody else pick up some of your expenses while you learn." --

Isn't there some truth that there's an advantage going captive in the beginning while learning the industry?

LH has a bad reputation for a reason but there has to be Agency's with solid reputation's who served new agents well.

FE must have a learning curve like any other industry.

Get a mentor. There's only like a dozen or 30 reputable ones on here.

I'll give you LH comp % and only one company if it will help :D:D

I would gladly lower your comp provide fresh leads and train you if you didn't seem like such a headache lol

Edit: and it totally has a learning curve that's why you won't hear most of the imos talking about how many people buy leads and then are out of the business in three months if they even make it that long

I was thinking of the fall out rate difference between a new captive vs Ind. agent within the first year in this thread..

Most reps on here blame the work ethic, lack of lead flow and competency as the main reasons people fail. All valid. But there has to be something said for a quality captive agency who's willing to go the extra mile while paying less during the learning curve.

Would be nice to get an even handed view of the other side without just bringing up LH - the easy slam.

As far as being a headache - Well, maybe.. but doubtful.

Captives only have a 73% fall out rate...

I've been with Lincoln Heritage. 100% contract. There are much better options, better training, and more commissions. LH talks a good talk, but you'll serve your customers better, they'll stay on the books longer and be happier with independent options.

The key is to find someone local that is willing to let you ride along with them as much as you need & vice versa.

It honestly takes A LOT of effort from a manager to shape an agent into a top producer. I hope you find what you're looking for.
