So I failed my AHIP.

Talk about a disappointment.

I just got unfroze from my 6 month and was hoping to branch into a little MAPD/PDP, but I'm stuck with Supps for now. My FMO said no problem June 18th is right around the corner.

If you were me just starting your agency for the first time, would you bother dropping capital on exclusive leads knowing you were limited? Or just forge ahead focused solely on what you know you have?

Caveat, not an agent.

I would recommend you search out and read some of the ahip threads here for test taking tips prior to doing your next year "for keeps" testing. 3 failed tries approximately an hour apart suggest to me that you are not doing some of things folks suggest in those threads.

(also, I just noticed a Ritter blog post about additional changes in ahip for 2021. That suggests you should probably discuss upcoming changes with your FMO too, prior to getting back into the actual test.)

Is UHC MAPD ok in your area? I don't think you need ahip to sell them. They have another program or something you can pass I believe.

To answer your question, no such thing as exclusive leads. 9 times out of 10 they won't want to talk to you and have be called non stop.
You may be able to take ahip again in June (why you took it 3x in a row is beyond me) but you can't market until Oct and no one effective until Jan.

edit: I'm doubting myself on the last sentence. Not 100%

I was thinking the same thing about 3X in a row

Yeah I know I'm an *** for taking it 3 times in a row like that. but scoring an 88 the first two times I thought I had it in the bag, didn't realize the questions would change so radically.

Appreciate the info, I'll make a game plan

Silver lining, you only screwed up a few months of spotty writing. You'll know better for AEP, which is more important.

If I'm looking at that screenshot correctly, you left 6 questions unanswered on the first two attempts and then 8 on the last one! I think that is why you failed. You only needed one more correct answer on the first two....I'm betting, if those were answered you would have gotten to 90%.

I think those are right answers. As he would have been at 100% and just not answered a ton of questions.
