I received a package in the mail from Scott Insurance Services out of Gallatin TN. It included contracting and comp info on United Home Life. The package also offered 16.00 leads for minimum of 25 (ordered).

What do you all know about Scott Insurance Services?

Why is there such animosity towards United Home Life(never written)?

He's OK. That's Bob Scott. He's been around forever.

Just like any FMO, make certain to get a release agreement up front.

UHL is ok, service for you and for clients is only so so.

The underwriting is fairly strict when you look at the premiums they charge.

There are lots of other companies that will charge less - so I don't use them for FE.

They do have a term program that was good for men with health issues, so there is a niche there.

Really interesting!!
This is very helpful post. More interesting word you say more traffic you will get from your comment.

I don't know why UHL takes such a beating on the forum. I've never had any trouble out of them. Their FE products are competitive (just like other carriers they don't want certain business). Their agent service is OK but not great. Their phone interview takes a bit longer than others but their interviewers are underwriters rather than just interviewers and can read outside the lines. They don't consider defib or pacemaker insertion to be heart/circuit surgery. Their renewals are very attractive and their commission statements are super easy to understand.

As an aside I read a while back that they were sponsoring some political groups that oppose unions or something like that. That alone is worth giving them a shot!

Don't look for UHL to knock your socks off with pricing, service or any particular aspect of your business. But if you want a solid reliable carrier (that is an insurance company rather than a silly fraternal) give them a shot.
