Hello, All!

Finished my 40 hours of Life, Accident, and Health. Taking my CA state exam next Tuesday.

In the interim, found this crazy article in the LA Times online yesterday.

A 59-year-old Apple Valley woman apparently buried her husband in her backyard because she was too poor to "give him a proper burial," authorities said Wednesday.

The body of the man, who was 63 when he died several weeks ago, was found by deputies in a shallow grave at the home in the 1600 block of Navajo Road, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said.

The agency said there was no sign of trauma to the body.

"The distraught female said the man died at home and she did not have the resources to give him a proper burial," sheriff's officials said in a statement.

Deputies responded to the home Wednesday afternoon to conduct a "welfare check" on the man. No other details were immediately available.

So... the cynic in me says, "Yeah, right...she probably offed him." No trauma, but maybe poisoning?

Thoughts? (Of course, if she had FE it wouldn't have been a problem!)

This is the kind of story that I like to print out and put into my binder... for those folks that say they are going to bury Mom or Dad in the backyard. Never hurts to have a copy of that in the ole binder to point to and mention what happens (Sheriff, Coroner, Detectives, Newspaper, et al) which may startle some sense into them...

Fear is a great motivater. Thanks for posting the story!

;) Yup, that's why I did it. I thought it would be a great tool to use. I'll post follow ups to the story as I see them. Have a great day!
