There must be a way to delete a post because I saw one removed yesterday in the annuity forum. Likely deleted because it was a post by admin to an article with wrong info & bad math, etc

You can delete your post, by clicking on the delete button under your signature..
I guess you can't delete a thread without the help of a Mod.

I have not read this thread, just saw your post.
Forum members are not allowed to delete or edit the first post in a thread they create because (in theory-everywhere except the final expense sub forum) it sets the stage for the rest of the thread.
There is a site post about that somewhere.
