New SilverScript SmartRx avg premium of $7.15

It came out in an e-mail.

Don't I feel like an ***. I completely misread Yagents post. I didn't realize he was asking a question. I guess if I understood what this weird mark (?) means I could better comprehend what I'm reading.

One comment on SilverScript 2021, with the lowest cost plan, if someone starts taking a drug above a very low tier, it won't be a bargain, but is great for the "I don't take drugs" crowd, until they do.
Generic Rx prices are rising, and they could get hit with what would seem to them a pretty big pricetag by their standards if there's no copay until the deductible.

I use the cheapest plan for the , "I don't want to buy a Medicare Part D plan!". I explain, " This way, you have your foot in the door, thereby, no future penalty. Plus, if something happens, at least you will have some kind of drug coverage"

Perhaps PDP's are different in your area. Most of my clients have a deductible Part D plan. Everyone of them have a copay in the deductible phase.

Of course some plans don't apply the deductible to certain tier 1 and/or tier 2 drugs IF you use a preferred pharmacy.

But all have a copay even if it is $0.

Tier 2 is $19.00 after the $435 deductible. They have 48 of top 100 drugs as Tier 1 but not sure I will be real comfortable putting people on this plan unless like the above said they are the ones that take only herbs and vitamins and would never take a prescription. Last guy that told me that was in the hospital and on insulin with 2 months.

I was trying to say that a PDP with no deductible for Tiers 1 & 2, for example, can surprise a client, who gets a new prescription & has to pay full price for a Tier 3 drug and doesn't have the luxury of paying the Tier 3 copay until they meet the $435 deductible. (Tier 3 maybe $45 copay, etc)

I "liked" your post as informative, but obviously don't like the fact that your "healthy" client died within a few months of going on Medicare.

I have had a few clients who were healthy and then not once turning 65. All were men that "never go to the doctor". One said the only medication he took was an OTC GERD medication. He had been taking the same thing for years but never saw a doc until he went on Medicare.

Diagnosis, esophageal cancer. He lived almost 3 years with it. Tough old bird.

Another played tennis 3 - 4x per week. Had a physical, passed with flying colors including EKG. Died a few days later. Heart attack on the tennis court.

The guy he was playing with was his cardiologist.
