Your mutual friend told your right . The dude's an animal and yes like any smart agent you rewrite that sucker for new comp.A few weeks ago i had an agent try to replace a 5 yr old am am with a 2 times higher premium .Client called me crying . He had already cashed it in. Went out and 30 day free looked it and rewrote her new plan. Aren't you with fex? Why no run the $10 check lead in Az ? It's getting 3% plus .I usually save everything too. This one I had heard from a mutual friend would go back to fight over a dollar. And since those policies I replaced were a few yrs old, he almost certainly rewrote them elsewhere and got paid again.
I had a case in AZ a few yrs ago where the lady called the company after 3.5 yrs to cancel. I called her and the number was NIS. I DK'ed their trailer and it was vacant. I wrote it off. A few weeks later she called me in a panic, said some agent told her she had to surrender her policy or she'd lose her food stamps. So she did and she cashed the surrender check. Other agent ghosted her, probably because he couldn't get her approved anywhere. I asked where she had moved and she said Indiana. I said, "Well, today's your lucky day." We made an appt to talk two days later when were weren't both driving. By then she was in the hospital and missed our phone appt. I was able to write her with another carrier, but she died six mos in and that claim has been in process for five mos. now. Other agent obviously didn't do a replacement form and she didn't know how to track him down.
