Don't try to get the hail damaged fixed with the insurance claim. Doing so would be fraud.
Get the damage done by the roofers fixed. Different accident.
Read the post by FullAuto. It's probably a bit confusing, but its pretty accurate on how the claim will come out.
And by the way, small dings that don't break paint can frequently be fixed with a little dry ice, though many dispute this as well. Of course, if they were small dents, the dealer likely did this already. Dry Ice has a habit of not pulling the done out completely, but with hail damage, will frequently minimize the damage.
