Pre-Set Appointments

I usually doesn't take me but 5 days to get paid. Its nice that they get paid that fast because Parker does not pay their agents that fast from what is on this forum.

Agents might have data that they want called and have the client pre-screened or an appointment set, while they do what they do best - close.

This has been an interesting thread.

After seventeen years, I don't "go on appointments". If you're looking for a "sale", it might be valuable. Problem is, you never have to stop "looking for sales".

I would call and set my own appointments because if you want to be in it for the long haul, you want to build a relationship. I'd like yet another chance to "take their measure" qualifying to see if I can scratch where it itches, before going on an appointment.

The benefit to relationship building is; they buy more, stay with you, and refer others without even having to be asked! Eventually you get to stop "looking for sales".

True professionals do not "close". Does your physician or attorney "close"? This is NOT a siding job, or buying a new car. If you do the job correctly, no Zig Ziglar/Tommy Hopkins "close" is necessary, it's an automatic part of the process.

So the question is simple; if you're looking for a "sale" - use a telemarketer and go on lots of "appointments".

But if you're taking the longer term approach, which is a lot easier in the long run, take advantage of EVERY opportunity to talk with the prospect. It's the stuff from which relationships are born.

If you can set real appointments for $25 a pop I'd certainly be interested. www.telemarketi ng21.com aka www. medicareadvantage leads .com promised such appointments and the first 7 said they said no and did not want to see me (while I was at their door and the next 3 said they were told someone from Medicare was coming to see me. But when I got there the first 2 told me they called Medicare and was told it was a scam and the 3rd let me in but then when she figured out I wasn't from Medicare I had to go.

The company told them that a Medicare specialist would be coming by. Their policy says if the senior gets "confused" and thinks we are from Medixcare then there is no refund or replacement.

I wasted 20 hours and $75 in gas on bad, bogus appointments. Of course they said they will replace the "bad" ones but if you think I have time going to bad replcement appointments your crazy.

So if you can show you are for real and better than this crap sign me up.

Margaritas - good points. The only reason I thought about offering pre-sets was due to comments on this very forum about not liking the phone, or being able to close the deal if they got in front of the client. Gave me an idea to make a few bucks on the side - well, big bucks actually.

Jim - my colleagues must be doing something right because I see it happening everyday - well Tues to Thurs anyway. The girls use a specific script approved by CMS and are setting 8 to 10 appointments a day - this is for 4 or 5 agents each week.

They spent 3 days in South Carolina this week and averaged closing 5 MA's a day - so, 15 for the week. That's $6k gross . . . They are writing WellCare.

When we get setup (1st week of April) - I'll let you know. You can get us some data and we'll set a few for ya . . .

I am just going by what I was told and saw on the commission sheet for these guys. $400 for WellCare and $375 for HealthNet. Bonuses are being paid the rest of this month on HealthNet.

Just relating to what I have seen.

" Will you be setting MA appts. in April? "

Based on the calls I've had - there is a market for affordable appointments, so I believe we will be testing it over the next few weeks and then make our decision the first week of April.

$25 per appt or $20 with supplied current data.

Aged In, CIP / SNP and Medi/Medi between 4/1 and 11/15. But - we will be able to do Major Med, Life, etc as well.

One feature will be "Live Connect" - so, subscribed agents will be able to have real time HOT leads switched real time. Others are already doing this, so we we'll research them and mirror their best features.

We'll see . . .

" What is your colleague's retention rate and carrier of choice? "

He is mostly doing MA's with HealthNet, WellCare and CIP. Also - uses Amerigo for FE and GI Term.

He's been doing it since August last year and he averages 8% Charge Backs each month - never higher than 12%.

They are part of the Parker & Associates group.

Very nice. What is P&A offering for the Wellcare contracts down in your neck of the woods?
