Replacement Notification

Was wondering if it's in bad taste to text a LH agent to let then know you just replaced their crappy policy? :-)

Oh well...I did. :-) The agent just wrote the policy too since it was still in underwriting. The lady in underwriting asked the client why he was canceling...he said because he more than doubled his coverage for only a dollar more. The underwriter said "oh."

I could see it as a courtesy like "Hey don't spend that advance"

It sounds like your client is impressed with the coverage, so I doubt it gave them a heads up to come back and re-sell their overpriced crap with their gimmicky FCGS.

I worked with LH and I have plenty of policies around me to replace. I know most of the agents and I'm thinking how I will handle that situation when it comes! :D

If these LH policies are such "crap" and people only buy "cheaper" ins. Don't you think "overpriced comp" wouldn't be in business? People don't buy life ins. Bc of price they buy it bc they love their family. Just my thoughts....I'm not in the business to replace policies I'm in the business to fulfill clients needs by adding coverage. My clients love me bc i genuinely care for each of them and they buy from me bc they know how much I care...not bc I sell insurance from the dollar menu.

That's right they love their family and want the best value for them. Most of my clients after they get educated on "overpriced companies" will purchase more coverage with same premium amount.
It's about quality of life for my clients. Still able to get insurance and still have enough in their monthly budget to enjoy life while they are living.

And how exactly do you educate them on overpriced companies? By comparing rates?

Do you work for LH? Sure looks like it. The answer to your question is yes...I can compare rates...and I can add a considerable amount of coverage to ex-LH customers.

I do whatever it takes to give the client the best service.

You should always leave your clients in a better situation then they were before you walked into the door.

They only ppl who say things like this are the ppl with a vested interest in the product being called "crap". Now while I don't think LH or SL is crap (it's whole life, the fam is better off then having nothing) ... I do think their pricing is crap.

Lemme ask u this, the next time u buy something important from a salesman ... And u find out u can get it much cheaper do u think "my salesman loves me & was looking out for my best interest even tho he overcharged me"?

GTFOH, you've never thought that EVER... Neither do your clients!

Yep, saving the client money with a good company, ESPECIALLY when they are struggling to keep food in the fridge, is usually the BEST situation for them...

Right on. Price is one the most overrated aspects of this business, imho. Regardless of what you're selling, price (within reason), should not make or break you. Recently had a lady take my policy and drop one she had just purchased. Mine was $20/mo. more. The client flat out told me she couldn't stand the woman who sold it to her. Even called the other agent personally to cancel while I was there.
If price was such a big driver of FE, then the T.V. and mail order companies wouldn't be ruling the roost selling their inferior/expensive coverage. You are correct. The biggest driver of your success is you.
