Ritter Marketing Commissions Experience

Hi Debra,

I think the issue is that our contract says we'll pay within 14 days of receipt of payment by the insurance company. Generally, we pay much faster than this as we run commissions every Friday. From the date of your submission to ultimate payment depends on when CMS approves the enrollment. I've found D-SNP's to take a little longer than traditional MA's, but in a clean case, CMS will approve within 14 days. My contract with the carrier is that they will pay me within 14 days of CMS accretion and I pay within 14 days of that. Adding all these up, I think the right expectation is about 6 weeks from submit to pay if everything flows smoothly.

The case in question was submitted on 6/21 and will pay on 8/9, so this is pretty much within those guidelines.

I think we've addressed every concern you've had to date and other than the timing of payment, I think you were very complementary to my staff for their diligence in following up on your issues.

Changing FMO's would not influence the timing of payment. I can email you my release policy.

Unless it is required by the carrier, why would anyone assign commissions. I don't see any benefit. Ritter obviously has a great reputation, but I wouldn't do it. We have Molina out here which is the only one I know of where they only pay the FMO, otherwise all commissions come directly from the carrier to me on every Medicare related product I sell.

I write/wrote SilverScript and it went through Ritter. Never had any problem and they were always nice to me and efficient.

Thank you Craig. Maybe you can clear up for me why First Choice is paying Ritter vs. the agent, when they won't be at other FMO's. Additionally, my BRC contract reflects my choice to be paid directly

Respectfully,
Debra C

It is probably because you signed an assignment form without paying attention to what that means.
