Selling for the First Time.

Wow and this sounded good!!! thats how new iam am. dont no where to start. but i will keep doing my homework. it seems that alot of insurance jobs sound good but are junk. whew this is tough all ready

Iam looking to get in to the insurance business. I talked to American family and state farm. Both said I needed good credit to apply. I think they want me to run my own store. I just want to sell for now and need someone to teach me. could I be to old to start a new career? iam 49 and do very well with people. Is there a class someplace I could take? I live in Milwaukee. where is the best place to start? I know nothing about this business. Is there an insurance book for Dummy's? How do I find out if this is something I would like? Not much stuff out there.:twitchy:

My advice....

We have about 8000+ agents and I usually steer them away from health insurance for sure after 1/1/11 due to Obama'care' (or lack there of) and the drastic cut in commissions. It's not worth the time to sell health anymore by the time you add up all the time you'll have to invest into a client. P&C pays pretty well but a lot of admin work and SUPER competitive. Life pays well the first year and then usually drops by 95%+. Personally, I would find a less regulated product/service that doesn't require a new license for every state you want to sell in. I learned years ago the insurance companies view agents as a "necessary evil" and doing everything they can to get rid of them all together (my opinion of course). Final expense is probably the best of the options.

Let me know if I can be of further help.

p.s.-If you would like information on a level commission product, that pays well, shoot me an email and I will well you more about it.

A guy from NAA just called and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about. anyone have any thing on this business?
