I think iam going to sell cars!!!! One guy say one thing the other says something else. Where the heck is a good place to start? iam glad for all the help but there dosnt seem to be a good place to start. How about american family? or one of them outfits?

Well selling cars is easy....you can touch them...you can see yourself in them.......you can fall in love with them....now insurance is a stack of papers you have to sign.....who can love that.......

Took a job with a Farmers agent. He is going to teach me and pay for the licence. I have my own office and work on comm. no cold calling. this is what I been looking for. hours are what I want and the agent is really a Nice Guy to deal with. P&C to start. Iam really excited...

I am also new to this site. I have a question. I am appointed with a Life insurance company. I am with a non captive agency. I am wanting to know if I can go with another non captive agency that represents the same insurance company. Is that possible?

If you are with an insurance agency I'm not quite sure you are "non captive". Have you assigned your commissions to them or do you receive your commission and renewal checks from the insurance company you write the business for? In other words, who do you get your commission checks from.

Typically you cannot have several different appointments with the same insurance company.

I agree...find a broker. that way you're not limited to what you can sell. Most of the time a broker will sell multiple types of insurance from many different insurance companires. As far as the credit thing......it is important but not the make or break. I was able to get my insurance license while still having a bankrupcy on my report.
