Signed With NYL....1st Month = Success

how about asking them for a list of orphan term policy's and get on the horn and call them and inform them when their policy's are going to give up the ghost and they have a option to convert to a permanent now because if they go full term it will be more expensive down the line...

Yes, they do that too. I have not jumped on that train yet...From my experience it's the agents who have no one else to call who are the ones calling these orphans....and getting stood up at every appointment.

Not to sound rude. But funny I was just chattering with a fellow agent and he was all bummed out because the orphan he set the appointment up with cancelled about 30 mins before the meeting. (The agent drove 45 miles out of town when he recieved this call) The orphan then re-scheduled for later that day at our home office........guess what? NO SHOW! LOLOLOL

can be sold to the interested people before you leave the office....the appointment should already know the rate and expecting you to show up with the paperwork.....

You make a great point STI. As far as, "Orphan Lists," I have not seen any, every now and again I hear of the partners/trainers say something like, "Hey, I have an orphan for you to call." They could be giving these, "Lists," out to expirienced agents...this is something I have yet to learn about at NYL. I never want to be in the position of having to rely on orphans. Definitely would love to supplement them.

a lead is a lead and a sale is a sale....no matter were it comes from....ask for a list and see if they give it to you...

I definitely will ask for a list when I am back at my office. I like the whole idea of telling the client there rate, showing up and filling out paperwork. My big thing is to get the client to trust me, and simply showing up and filling paperwork out, leaves little room for likeability. IMO. I will absolutely give it a whirl, because as you said it, and probly can't be put better....a lead is a lead and a sale is a sale. Did you go captive starting out in this industry? If not, who did you start your foundation work with?

started at Metlife 18 years ago.....as far as client trust...watch this video...and when working these and selling the concept of conversion
on the phone you hit on what if you become uninsurable and can not get a new policy.....and question them about current health...you might find some uninsurables on the list that this is their only options and the longer they wait the more expensive it is going to be.....and for the healthy one's see if NYL will convert a small portion as a FE and let the keep the rest of the term until it drops off... and if you know what you are talking about the clint will trust you....act as if......

Congrats on what sounds like your first month. NYL is a good outfit and the SF office always does well. Don't expect an orfan list of real prospects since those are usually given to established agents, not newbies. Anything a newbie is going to get is something an established agent doesn't want.

Again congrats on 12 apps.. did your commission include TAS?

There is a truth I think NYL trainers still probably should tell you, 10 apps a month consistently will usually bring a solid career. We're halfway through March, how many this month?

Act as if - YouTube

Now that is why I am a member here. You just dropped some knowledge, that I will now take with me and use in front of my manager? The converting a small portion as FE only to healthy is intuitive thinking. Thinking like that, keeps agents around in this business. That is a fact......

Boiler Room. Classsssssssssic!

My ear is always on the floor.

NYL?

Project 200?

I don't know about your ear, but I have a good idea where the rest of your head is.

Just kidding.

Anyone who can "make it" in the NYL culture with their overpriced products and their antediluvian sales training is surely Top of The Table material. I wish you the best of luck. You will need that... and then some... to survive in that company.

The only thing I took from your post was, "Top of the Table Material." Thank you kind sir.
