Starting Block

Asking a little advice of the group. I have a small team (5) and will be adding more this year. We spent the Fall sharpening our Health Skills, as we had the clients. I am ready for Phase Two, and committed to field training on FE for most of this year. I know it's better to get the youngsters on just a few companies, but wanted to see if there is any "must haves" and "don't needs". Some of these I acquired as part of my Health portfolio, so it may be plenty.
Haves:
Monumental
Forethought
Medico
Americo
Foresters
American Continental
United Home Life
Royal Neighbors (probably what to switch IMO's to submit with them)

Any must haves to add or don't needs to subtract, and if so....?

I would suggest you speak with Brad @ 360financialgroup since he can help you with...

The Carriers you want
1 or 2 suggested carriers to start with
Fixed cost direct mail, Final Expense Life Insurance Leads

Brad Aden's # is (877) 504-7662 - Toll Free

It sounds like you may need some assistance with field training, videos, scripts...etc... I will be more than happy to help you out with that!

Thank you for the response. I have thought Settler's and Oxford, as well. I need to find someone who has both and the 75% bronze is okay with me. That is what I was going to sign up with my Health carrier at. But they just dropped Settler's and do not offer Oxford or 5 Star or even Royal Neighbors.

That 75% is just on the Bronze. The Gold and Silver are 100% and up, depending on what you can negotiate.

As far as the don't needs: Forethought and Medico. These are probably carriers you said you picked up for health. I don't think either are competitive in life or health anymore...not in Illinois anyway. Those would be the obvious ones to get rid of.

Keep in mind too that Settlers doesn't want you to place more than 30% of business in Bronze. So for every Bronze you need to place 2 or 3 in Silver or Gold.

I was gonna use them just for their "almost GI" until I seen this in their agent guide. But even though they won't replace in KY, I hope to place enough healthy business (1,10, 20 pays) to use their Bronze when I need to.

Thanks for the help, all. FYI, I used 3 carriers in Health during the Fall and all were worth having. One additional carrier was used at the end as they provided people for us to call on. 7 appointments, 7 apps last week individually, was nice to have somewhere to go during Holiday season. I imagine I'd like to have 3 Life carriers in my kit, with a strong lead carrier. I do not have an issue with, for example, the Bronze ratio at Settler's. Chasing GI's sounds like a Fool's Errand.

I'm a new agent seeking training any suggestions or reputable companies...my desire is to start with FE or MLP...

My advice would be to find a captive agency, preferably one that focuses on FE and go to work for them learning the trade. You will be paid less but it's worth it to be trained, preferably in person.

I have 12 companies in my bag and only write 4 or 5

Trans, Americo, UHL, Gerber and AA

Trans and Americo are fast issue and no PHI

UHL has the best rates if a client takes no meds and their graded pays 90%, short quick PHI.. UHL under 50 - no DL # asked- so if you have a client with a knucklehead son or daughter with a suspended license/DUI you can get them 1st day coverage with UHL

Gerber for my guaranteed

AA for UL.. You can beat most prices by a large margin on their easy UL, it's important you explain the difference between a UL and WL..

Transamerica's non med term is some of the best priced right there with Assurity
