The highly requested update on my experience with FE thus far...

Hello all,

Some of you may remember my initial videos detailing my first few weekends selling FE part time. This video details my admittedly limited experience since then--and it's not all good news! I have received many requests for an update on my experience to date.

I really debated producing this video. I know a lot of people were encouraged by my initial message. In the end, I decided to be honest with the community. I wholeheartedly admit the bulk of these problems could be with me.

I am curious what this experienced community has to offer regarding my experiences thus far. Please keep your comments respectful of others.

Thank you.

One of the first things that comes to mind is that you are using an appointment setter. You can set more appointments on your own. You don't need an appointment setter until you get so busy you can't find the time to make them yourself.

As for the business falling off of the books, are you pushing them a little much? Are you trying to get them to buy as much as they can or what they actually need?

Seriously doubt that is it. My guess is a lack of confidence. He doesn't truly believe in himself and is projecting doubt and fear. So as soon as he leaves, they start second guessing their decision and if they are at all on the fence, they cancel. He needs to believe in himself more and leave them with a feeling of confidence that they made a good decision.

Just my Monday Morning Quaterbacking after listening to most of the video.

Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear, I didn't use an appointment setter, the other producer who shared in the leads with me did. And definitely not a hard sell in the least...I am much more consultative. I don't like pushy sales people so I don't do that myself. I had great appointments with the people that bought. Great interaction and they saw an apparent need and I filled it (or at least tried to).

Always a possibility...but two different producers and separate appointments and have the same problem? One who has been in the business for 10+ years (not me - the other guy)...

As I said, Monday Morning Quarterbacking.

I will say, you aren't terribly confident in the video. Also, you vastly overestimate pest control. They most definitely can and will cancel. You'll end up with credit card disputes, sending people to collections, etc. but they can and will cancel. If the guy told you they don't, either he was lying or isn't far enough into it. Also, the clientele can help, if he is selling in better neighborhoods, he would get less of it. FE is always going to be sold in poorer, less financially skilled areas.

Without knowing more, it is hard to really pinpoint the problem. That is what I picked up on from the video. You kept apologizing for making it.

There are times of year and your career that just ebb & flow with things like chargebacks and fall off. Labor Day messed up a lot of billing and if people were actually responsible and lead to missed payments. I would also not split business in a presentation I was not a part of. If you're going to sell your leads to somebody take cash don't ask for their business.

You're dealing with professional procrastinator's and habitually Poor money managers. Are you using a carrier that is getting the money before the client?

To the OP,

Sorry man but basing your decision on an anecdotal experience is a sign of weakness. You should quit FE if you are going to make your decision based off of one small part time trial run.

Gl to whatever you get into!

I know you want to prove that you're making money as well but there comes a point where you don't want to be too analytical about it when your brand new.

You're going to miss sales you could've closed and close sales you're going to lose but that's just part of the learning curve.
