UHC PDP going non-commissionable 6/1/25

It's worse than that - the rumor I heard is that we're going to have to start paying a Broker Fee to write UHC PDPs.

What? Do they want out of the PDP business? There will be some that won't suggest them even if their rate/total cost is the best choice for the client if they are going to charge us to provide them with clients.

What exactly is the "PDP business" you are referring to? I assumed it was a loss leader to have people to market advantage plans to. If the carriers are reducing exposure to advantage plans, why would they pay you to sell a PDP plan?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about the $20,000 hole in my income when PDP comp disappeared this year. I just can't expect to be paid to bring an insurance company business that loses them money.

I heard Stand-Alone Part D plans (to go along with MedSupps). MAPD is likely to stay commissionable. I think we all expected Wellcare was only the first domino to fall. Silverscript was the second.
