Update on Gerber

Where can I find the post, with the list of what companies to go to for FE ?
Example: Gerber for GI
Mono for ???
5 Star for ???
Forrersters for ?
RNA for ??
UHL for ???
Balti for ??
Americo for ??

Gerber-use this company when things are going a little too well and you need to be in the dark for months at a time and made to look like a jackass in front of your clients

Monumental-crazies, fatties and COPD

5 Star-relatively healthy. Direct express card. Occasional oxygen. No script check.
Foresters- don't know

RNA-don't use them much anymore. Basically interchangeable with 5 Star.

UHL-see Gerber

Balt-don't know

Americo-tobacco users in good health.

You should be able to place most with 5 Star and Americo. I use AmCon often as I target my marketing to an older demo.

You forgot, Gerber will also blame it all on you. A real helpful company.

What risks would you place with Settlers ? Age, T or NT, underwriting ?
Good for younger ages that need SI since they go down to age 0..Also good for folks that want a limited pay plan. ALS and MD (over age 25) accepted standard. There are are a few other conditions not on the app that others ask about. Especially competitive on face amounts below 10K since they do not have a policy fee. No HT/WT chart on silver plan. Accepts bipolar and most psychiatric conditions on Silver

Really? They take Lou Gehrig's?

Yeah.. I called and asked underwriting when I had a prospect who had ALS.. They said as long as the question was not on the app, they would not take it into consideration and would issue full benefit.

Quality company.

Something a lot of agents forget. They can decline for anything under the sun, as long as it isn't against a protected class. But once issued, they can only contest based on what is in on the application and exam they included in the policy.

If a company doesn't ask about it, they cannot legally contest over it. Now, doesn't mean a company might not try, but they would lose if taken to court over it.

I'm guessing there are "confined to wheel chair" and "help with daily activities" questions. So you would have to write them in the first stage of the disease??

Had a close friend die in March from ALS.

There is an assisatance with daily living question so you are correct about early stages of ALS. No wheelchair question. Silver pan only asks about Cerebral Palsy,Down Syndrome, Mental Retardation, (they would have to be capable of doing telephone interview) Muscular Dystrophy or Spina Bifida if under age 25. Does not ask about ALS.
