Anyone have a verified answer on whether or not it's allowed to use the word "Medicare" in your business emails or website? Like JohnDoe@InsuranceplansforpeopleonMedicare.com or something like that?

I read the CMS marketing guidelines and it's clear you cannot market your business in a way that sounds like you are a part of, affiliated with or endorsed by Medicare. What about just having the word in your email or website?

Okay, now for the straight forward answer. Yes, go ahead and use it. You should have no problems whatsoever.

In 2006 -2007 I had a website called medicareplanfinder .I had the medicare database plan search function integrated on the my website.I actually to talked to CMS before I did this and they said it was compliant but that was before MIPPA so maybe that has changed.

You can use the word "Medicare". You just can't make the visitor or prospect think that you're affiliated with Medicare in any way. So have a disclosure that you're not.
