Why Do Suzie Orman and Dave Ramsey Trash WL So Much?

Frpm my 3 years of experience as an ELP. Dave's listeners have recieved very bad advice from other agents and are underinsured with non competitive term companies. Most of the leads I receive have no business, at this time, of considering permanent insurance that is consistant to Dave's advice. Not all of Dave's listeners are despearte broke folks, I have many doctors, lawyers, CPA's, business owners and engineers as clients. I don't agree with all he recommends but he has done much more good than harm, IMO.

Everyone's situation is different. He should NOT be giving cookie-cuter advice and saying that all else is a rip-off.

He's a slick pitchman who gives 3/4 correct information that anyone with any common sense agrees with (but some people are to immature to do) and his other 1/4 is his pad Dave's pocket BS.

I believe he should be held to the same standard as a licensed insurance agent AND stock broker because he IS representing himself as an advisor on these matters. We ALL know his untruths and omissions would have his licenses yanked the first day IF he had them. But since he represents himself as an entertainer he doesn't have to follow any laws.

Client/Prospect: But Dave Ramsey says I should buy term and invest the difference.

Me: Oh Really? And you know he was speaking specifically to you because... ?

Dave, I'm not so sure of where he learned his stuff. He's basically this generation's Al williams.

Actually, A L Williams IS where Dave Ramsey got his basic training. In the early days of his radio show, it was actually called "The Money Game" and there were two hosts -- Dave Ramsey and Roy Matlock. Matlock was, and still is, an A L Williams (Primerica) agent. From what I hear on the street, he is one of the very few that made it to the top of the A L Williams marketing pyramid.

I'm not sure if Ramsey was ever a licensed agent or not -- his then recent bankruptcy might have blocked his eligibility for a license. The TN DOI doesn't show any record of him, but the data base might not reach back far enough. However, you can find some posts on the internet that suggest that he was an A L Williams agent for a brief time back in the 1980's.

records do show that he held a license from 6/18/1984 until 10/7/1996.

go to: https://sbs-tn.naic.org/Lion-Web/jsp/sbsreports/AgentLookup.jsp and type in license #: 0652539

Oh man!
We have got to find a whole life policy sold by him and take it to the media. They will eat this s*it up!
that would be awesome, and someone needs to get to the bottom of he and zander ins. relationship- it's probably all about $$ - but I suppose there could be some AL williams ties there.

I think wikipedia needs to know he used to sell insurance and is part owner of Zander insurance.

Lucky us, wikipedia is peer reviewed. Time to change it.

See, now he's an insurance agent. Lets see how long till they change it.

If anyone can find an attributable source showing he is a part owner of zander we can fix that too.
