Will Artificial Intelligence replace the Insurance Agent?

So, I've been following the developments in AI for awhile now and am starting to use it in developing advertising pieces and social media items.

The recent developments in AI have it being able to receive a Master's Degree from Wharton Business School and even being able to get a Medical License.

AI can be used for ChatBots and can be a labor and time saver for the agent who is interested in using these new tools.

Here I told the AI to write me an emotional story about why an older woman would want to purchase a HIP with Skilled Nursing and an Ambulance Rider. The I used Text to Picture to have it generate an image for me: Click link to see AI generated picture.

Julie had been a healthy, vibrant woman all her life. As she got older, she was getting more and more concerned about her health. She had seen her friends and family go through medical emergencies and hospital confinements, and it had started to really weigh on her.


One day, she was talking to a friend who had recently purchased a Hospital Indemnity plan, which pays for hospital confinement, skilled nursing, and ambulance coverage.

She was amazed at how much the plan would cover and how much it could help her and her family if something were to happen. Julie was moved by the thought of having a safety net in place for her and her family in case of a medical emergency.

She wanted to make sure that if something were to happen, she would be able to get the best care possible, and also not be burdened with the financial strain that often comes along with medical issues.

The thought of being able to provide her family with financial security and peace of mind was too much for her to resist.

She knew that if something were to happen, she would be able to get the best care possible, and not have to worry about the financial costs. Julie made the decision to purchase the Hospital Indemnity plan and she slept better that evening.

So is the Terminator coming for us?

Tech did not replace the agent before, and it won't in the future.
The Gov't and CMS is the biggest risk to the agent......and the carriers.

I actually came across someone who listed an aol address for their email not too long ago. In my head, I questioned if those addresses even work anymore?? lol

A lot of people still have AOL email addresses. Not me but I have friends younger than me who do.

I think every industry will be affected by AI to some degree. But no, it won't put us out of business. Just like the internet didn't put car salesmen, insurance agents, lawyers, etc out of biz. Learn how to adapt and integrate it.

I think a lot of people are hoping that they'll have an excuse to find another job.

My concern and this can affect us all:
If you are an agent who relies mostly on buying internet leads to generate new business (think 35 personal auto leads per day), will AI help or hurt this agent? Will internet lead companies like Everquote go out of business because now ChatGPT/other AI form is finding people the best car insurance rate in minutes? Will people stop (or greatly reduce) shopping online for auto quotes, which hurts both Everquote and the agent who relies on Everquote/similar company to provide them leads to call?

I work in final expense, and most of my clients don't have a clue when it comes to technology. I think there will always be a place for face-to-face agents.
