Brian Anderson

On Sept. 1, the 2021 MDRT Executive Committee began their year-long positions guiding the financial services industry, MDRT members and their clients forward during unprecedented times.

Ian Green, Dip PFS, takes his place as 95th President and Gregory Gagne, ChFC, joins as Secretary. By skillfully concentrating efforts, the leadership team aims to empower members and their clients to come out ahead of the global crisis.

Green, a 22-year member from London, succeeds 27-year member Regina Bedoya, who will become the Immediate Past President. Randy L. Scritchfield, CFP, LUTCF, a 36-year member, and Peggy Tsai, RFP, CCFP, a 19-year member, will move into their new roles as First and Second Vice Presidents while newcomer Gagne, a 21-year member, will serve as Secretary.

Now more than ever, the 2021 Executive Committee has their sights set on providing support for industry professionals including flexibility for current and aspiring members to offset external challenges. They will amplify the legacy that the previous Executive Committee began, strategically fostering focus and innovation within MDRT to cultivate members’ shared learning and growth and lead the global membership through the pandemic.

Acknowledging the current health and economic crisis, they will reinforce the MDRT Productivity Action Plan, offer additional resources and make unprecedented adjustments to membership requirements so that members can focus on serving their clients and envisioning a brighter future.

“With an unpredictable year of global financial recovery ahead, the MDRT Executive Committee is ready to support its members, the industry and the financial well-being of individuals around the world,” Green said. “We will continue to cultivate a robust professional network that financial experts can rely on so that every member comes through this challenging time stronger and better than before.”

As the world and the financial services industry become more unpredictable, the leadership team will also drive a professional development strategy focused on providing best-in-class educational content that can be accessed on-demand via online resources, going beyond in-person events. Also, the expansion of an online Mentoring Program will connect existing members with seasoned professionals who can help them aim higher despite uncertainty.

Together, the Executive Committee is poised to help members emerge from the global crisis and become more resilient. Green brings extensive MDRT experience to the leadership team with five Court of the Table and 14 Top of the Table qualifications and has served in various volunteer positions. Gagne, of Exeter, N.H., has four Court of the Table and 12 Top of the Table qualifications, and has served on a variety of committees, including his current role as Top of the Table Advisory Board Chair and Global Council Member.

Founded in 1927, Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), the Premier Association of Financial Professionals, is a global, independent association of more than 65,000 of the world’s leading life insurance and financial services professionals from more than 500 companies in 70 nations and territories.
