This will have a major ripple effect across financial markets and institutions. Greenspan sure screwed this economy when he lowered rates so low which led to the housing bubble , which led to the credit crunch , which has led to this financial meltdown.

I am taking out an uninsured deposits from my banks tomorrow.Heck even the insured deposits may be at rick in this enviroment.

Re: AIG looks like it heading for BK if they can't raise 75 Billion

I worked in U/W at AIG recently. Hated it. Hated the company. It was so much BS. I find this hilarious.

Every damn week they made us watch a video about how super awesome AIG is and how financially superior they are to everyone else. Got tired of that. Decided to quit and pursue a real career.

I've decided to give AIG it's bridge loan...

Is there an AIG office in your home town because they need it tomorrow and make sure you put enough zeros after the 75.Thanks for doing this you could be resposible for saving our financial markets.

I think the days are numbers for AIG. I read 3 news stories about them.

I heard you can make 75 billion as an AIG career agent. Just start with a list of your friends and family.

Re: AIG looks like it heading for BK if they can't raise 75 Billion

You must have a much better contract than me, I only get 65 billion:D

My phone has not stopped ringing today, from AIG clients who want to know if we should replace their policies, with another carrier. I have more life policies placed with AIG, than with all other carriers combined. I don't like replacing life policies, I don't see it as a way of making money.

My take on this AIG thing:

1. They have more reinsurance treaties than any other life carrier, so the policy would get picked up in the case of default.

2. If the face amount is at $300K or below, the state pool has the contract covered. However, at that point, I would be writing a new policy.

What do ya'll think about all of this? AIG is my favorite, not only the treatment of agents and brokers, but also in customer service. They paid death claims faster than anyone for me, and I did life insurance exclusively for 5 years, before getting into heatlh and other products. I am not the least bit interested in bad mouthing them or hearing stray comments, just curious what others are doing.

What are you doing with clients w/ AIG policies?

Well? The emails have started. Clients are concerned and asking me what we should do. What are you recommending your clients do who have AIG policies?

Argh...
