Oh, and let's not forget, that Mother Merrill was the first major wirehouse to recommend that clients leverage their stock portfolios to "create" money for mortgages for their clients' homes.

Well? The emails have started. Clients are concerned and asking me what we should do. What are you recommending your clients do who have AIG policies?


Argh...

Nothing, unless they call me. There are no issues currently... Insurance benefits are backed up anyway.

Can you believe it?

Well anyone among the "haves" should hope and pray that the Merrill deal flies with BofA... it is not yet a done deal, and a few issues could arrise before the ink dries. If a fly appears in the ointment prior to closing it would be ugly...

Lets hope we don't have to see it, as it will affect everyone, whether you have a Merrill acct or not... Financial calamity begets financial calamity...
