Assurity

A lot of terms that were considered the parlance of a particular profession or technical terms get misused now so much that they sort of change meaning over time. I used to cringe when I heard lay people use the term "moot", and "retrospective" which were almost exclusively used by the legal system at one time.

Fat chance turning back the clock on those, or I guess any other terms that people like and want to use.
