Can I Get Licensed in FL if I Am Behind on Child Support?

Man if you think about it life is scary.. From my understanding at least Massachusetts got rid of the alimony for life law.. In the movies they show a family with the understanding wife, beautiful kids with a dog.
It's a wonderful life.... Age old advice..

Here's something else I ran across. Do what you have to do.

How about a child support system where there is a set amount and equal for both parents. No financial incentive for either parent.

Yes, you are right. You would know better than most.

I'm sure you're trying to make a dig, Al. So to help with the self-esteem issues I'm going to respond with "Yes, you may be right."

Merry Christmas.

Just wanted to let everyone know that was nice enough to respond (except for the one jerk)to my original post that as of today I am appointed with the company I wanted. After a few months research I found a company that fits me and has a great product with some really cool selling points. I will be working from home 100% via phone and internet helping families with their health ins. They have unlimited leads and I will be using a dialer so pretty excited about Monday!!

Okay, how about a response from someone who has actually BEEN in your situation: ME!

Yes, I owe money on a child support case. I won't go into details about how it all came about (cause it ain't anyone's business but mine).

If you miss a monthly payment, your child support office can put a restriction/hold in ALL licenses you have in your state. It doesn't prevent you from selling insurance, but it does place a new expiration date much sooner than the normal license expiration. Now, when I was having financial trouble, I got the notice from the DOI stating that there was a hold on my license for 150 days until I am current with my child support.

I contacted the child support office, and they told me that it would only take A CURRENT MONTH PAYMENT to have my license released. My insurance license was released within 48 hours. (For some strange computer glitch, my driver's license was never affected.)

You'll probably have a hard time getting appointed by career agencies that do "financial planning" type work or with P&C companies that you can accept direct payments on behalf of insurers.

I had ZERO trouble getting appointed as a broker with any other company... and had no issues getting appointed with my current career agency selling supplemental insurance policies.

I would wait to get securities licensed until your outstanding balance has been paid up in full... but that's just my opinion.

Talk with your case worker and make sure you know how to keep your license active and in good standing so you can keep earning money and paying that balance.

How long did it take to get a response?

What papers did you have to send in?

Wow, this brings back old memories. Even though it was 2-3 years ago, it seems like a lifetime ago. I will pm u Isaac!

Just read this thread. So I'm assuming you dug yourself out of the hole?

No I have not. It was a very DEEP hole, lol, but I was showed proof that I was on a payment plan. Isaac, the guy who asked for help in a few posts earlier also called me this week and told me that he was able to do the same thing. So, there is hope out there for the good guys!
