Days of the Week to Set Appointments

The way I've always done it is my first appt is set for a specific time. Say 9am, next one is 10-11, then 11-12, 12-1, etc. Gives some wiggle room. But to the title of the thread "Days of the Week to Set Appointments", the best day is today. Best time is now. Sounds like stupid sales manager talk but too many agents get "cooked in the squat" (ziglar reference). The reason that the top producers know the "best"...... day, time, how far to travel, what to wear, whatever is because they picked up the phone and did it. I don't understand why so many are afraid to upset the busy schedule of a toothless old weirdo that lives on disability in a trailer out in the middle of a cornfield.

I don't suppose it matters much what days you use as long as you use some days.

As a rule I don't set appointments more than one day out. I am usually in the field 2 days per week, Tues and Thurs. I set Tues appointments on Monday and Thurs appointments on Wed.

Sometimes I break my rules out of necessity. Like today. After scheduling for tomorrow I had a couple of leads that were away from where I'm working right now. I called them and set appointments for today and went and saw them.

I'm also working some teleleads I got from John Galt into the mix. They were in 4 counties so some of them I called today I talked about seeing them on Friday. But I will call those back on Friday morning.

But that's talking about exceptions. I've found that I can't build a business on exceptions. So I stick to my schedule of calling on Monday and Wed and running appointments on Tues and Thurs. Rarely do I stray from that. Today was one of those rarities.

Jd on Monday and Wednesday when you call for appts what time of the day are you calling?im finding so many people not home that I'm having to call 2-3 times a day which is time consuming.

I don't have a set time to call. My first appointments of the day are at 9:30 to 10:00 since I usually have an hour or so drive to my first appointment. So I will usually make my first calls starting around 10. But sometimes different. I didn't make my first call on Monday of this until sometime in the afternoon.

Once I decide what county I'm going to work the next day I just start calling. I will call through my list until I have a full day scheduled. If I get through them then I will call through them again right then. If not fuly scheduled then I will take a break for an hour or so and then call through them again. I will continue that all day if I have to. Usually I don't have to call through but a couple times.

If I don't have a day full of appointments scheduled then I know I'm gonna have some down time and will have to doorknock.
