Direct Xpress Lotto...

Bingo thats because Transamerica is one of the few companies that debits direct express correctly. Run that with the majority of companies and you'll have problems.Just curious who these clients are that remember " hey I lost my de express card I better call the company with my new card #?Actually I see this as a long term persistency problem for carriers as cards expire or are lost .The chances are 1/2 these people have Obama phones are have changed #'s.
Most of the people I know with Obamaphones have another one, too. They call the O-phone "my minit phone". They keep it more as a back up. It pays to ask if this is their main number, then ask for any other numbers where they can be reached. Because no, they won't remember to call in when (not if - WHEN) they change their card.

It doesn't really matter what an individual agent experiences with DE payers. It matters overall to the company.

Trinity/FBL says there is no noticeable difference in persistency with DE payers vs checking or savings accounts.

AmAm started taking the DE card a few years ago and made a mess of it and stopped. 1 star supposedly tells other companies to not take them. But 1 star screws up everything they touch.

Trans started taking them a few years ago too. They made a mess of it and stopped.

Then they started taking them again about 2 years ago. They have screwed it many times and they have that stupid rule about it having to be approved 10 days before the 28th before they can take the draft the next month.

I just had a DE payer with them, {he's a client I share with Rearden}, that had his card expire. He's a 3rd payer. He did call them when he got his new card but Trans told him they couldn't take that info over the phone. By the time he sent in a new form they said it was received 10 days prior to the 28th so they will just do a double draft in July.

If that's doing it right then I hope no other companies follow that model.

No idea what trans says about persistency on the DE payers vs others because if you call and ask 12 times you will get 12 different answers.

Never heard what SNL's experience is either. Must be OK or they would stop taking them.

Personally I have no more problems with the DE payers than any others. Again, it doesn't matter what one agent's experience is. If the company has an inordinate amount of problems with that business then they will pull the plug.

I write in Tampa Florida... Y'all have no idea what it's like to walk into a single wide in the middle of june with no air conditioner, 3 dogs shitting everywhere and a bi-polar crazy wife that tells you to "Kiss my ass" without removing the marlboro from her mouth when you ask if she would like a policy as well....

I'm sure many will agree with me that their exp with de express with Trans has been excellent so far.I agree the day rule is bs. It's not a problem with ss with checking account as you just have the first month drafted regular and send the form in later if your within 10 days .But yes I can see problems if the card is lost or expires as double drafting comes into play.Ive done a few regular family benefit . How many days in advance do you have to have the app in for ss billing?I use a second phone for work and always text the client before I leave and tell them to save my # and name so if there's a problem I text them as they wont answer . I've saved a ton of policy's doing this

Some here will consider that comment as being arrogant or cocky, ill consider it an A+

Some deadbeats really dont deserve a good agent, shut them down quickly and move on is my motto, I dont visit for free

I learned a long time ago that I'm not lucky to get a customer, they are lucky to have new as their agent. I wouldn't sell some customers at a 200% commission.

I know exactly what that is like.....she would also tell a state trooper to "kiss her booty" with that same cig hanging off her hair or hairy lip due to being pulled over for having five 2 year olds crawling all over her in diapers while driving.

Trinity / FBL is if the deposit occurs within 7 days of the application date, then you have to move it to the next month, but they have 45 days out from app date so it works well.

Here is some info on that:

In my experience direct express, I see no difference in persistency than regurgitate bank.

Now other debit cards are terrible.

I have had the same problem here in Michigan. I believe its from working DM leads in Saginaw. I have written more direct express and direct bill apps in the past month than ever before. Maybe that means its time to change areas? TM leads dried up so i switched to DM with mixed results. Its like a crapshoot!

I actually got an answer from trans and they said it was about 50/50..... Sounds like if no lost card or expiration it could be 75-80...

I've actually had pretty good persitancy with the DX cards... I don't write a lot of them.. yesterday was probably most I've written then the last year... I don't even count on commissions with them... if I get something out of them great- if not and they lapse the charge back is very minimal (3 month advance) I've gotten to the point in my career now that if a policy lapses in the 1st 3 months and it's under $30 - I don't even call and try and conserve the case.. just not worth the time...
