EFT bank overdrafts are bankrupting me ... anyone have advice?

I think it's my market ... they are just too poor ...

Is FE really as good as it appears? I'd rather sell less policies to people that can pay ... how do you find these people?

I'm sure you have a point, I just have no clue what it is. Are you saying that an agent would be better off getting screwed for 25%-40% of their commission on each and every deal, by a company that won't release them without legal threats? Or are you saying that risking $50 is much worse?

Let me start out by saying that Jody and I have talked on the phone quite a bit and I find him to be a decent guy with good common sense and obviously a good student of final expense and insurance in general.

But I was a little bit offended when he showed me his website. It's basically a collection of information that is posted on the forum for free. A lot of the information comes directly from me, Travis, JD Easy, Mark Rosenthal and several other long-time posters on the board. This would sit better with me if Jody wasn't charging people to sell them the information that I already put out there for free.

The other part I don't like is that Jody has links to Mark Rosenthal's free training on his paid site but when it comes to places he recommends agents contract through...Mark gets no mention even though he has several of the mentioned companies available at very good commission rates.

The links for contracting with the companies does not appear to be unbiased information to me. Why does each company have only one FMO listed? For instance the link for Monumental does not list Ritter as a good source (which it is) but Ritter is listed with Baltimore Life. Many of these companies can be contracted at as good or possibly better commission levels through other FMOs such as Mark Rosenthal, Brad Aden (360 Financial), and others.

Not to take anthing away from Next Generation Financial, they are a good group of guys and great with annuities but I do believe that Jody has told me himself that he DOES get a recruiting over ride for any agents that he refers to them. That should be disclosed in the interest of keeping everything honest.

The FMO that is recommended for Settlers is a good stable company BUT they also have been known to give many agents a watered down contract on the renewal commissions. If the agents aren't getting the full 12% renewals for years 2-9 they might want to shop that one a little bit but they wouldn't know to do that if Jody only lists ONE FMO on the site.

And lastly, Jody needs to give a LOT of respect to Travis and the others that he is learning from. When someone has year after year of six-figure sales AFTER lapses and chargebacks they ARE a great source of training and information. Travis HAS already helped agents go from zero to huge success in insurance sales. Until you have actually done that yourself (and I mean years of success, not months) you still have a lot to learn.

So in summary, Jody the site looks pretty good but you shouldn't charge for it, you should give credit for where the information originated, you should list multiple FMOs OR disclose your business relationships if you want them to contract through you, NOT use Mark Rosenthal's resources UNLESS you are also going to also direct people to him for contracting and always give Travis credit for bringing a LOT of great information about selling final expense to all of us on the forum because there was no one openly talking about buying weekly leads from MSPM and how to sell them before him.

I have shut the site down. It's still open to members who are already registered.

I will possibly open it on a free platform in the future.

In the mean time, Scott will be glad to talk to all new agents at no charge.

:)

Jim Jenkins, Rick, Scott and all... well, the white flag flys!

Jodi...I'm diappointed in you. I have never been to your web site and cannot make any claims to its merit. But don't let a few members of this forum intimidate you into closing your site. It's YOUR site, not theirs. If people diapprove or approve of the info on the site this forum is a good vetting place.

I mean...if you consistently produce $20,000+ AP in FE biz per month, then your info on YOUR site has some merit. (Unless all or most of the info is a blatant lie). I'm a neutral observer but I believe your site is designed to help NEW FE agents, not the pros.

I agree... Grow a pair. I can see why I don't spend much time on this forum. Although a few guys appear to be knowledgable and helpful, many appear to be morons and bullies.

For anyone to complain that free information was used on a website for profit is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in awhile. Look around, that's exactly the reason Al Gore invented the internet. There are millions of websites utilizing free information, from multiple sources for personal gain.

You are under no obligation to refer, recommend or even mention any FMO/IMO, for any product. It's your website, your business and your income. Unless these internet tough guys are going to support you, why would you care who they want you to refer?

It seems to me that the few guys here that want to take advantage of agents by using questionable leads programs, in exchange for greatly reduced commissions, should not be the determining factor in your decision to keep your site up.

I have no idea if you are providing good usable information or if your site is totally worthless. I do know however, that a bunch of cry babies on an internet forum would never be the determining factor in any decisions that I might make.

100% AGREE! Heck Jodi..put your site back up...it's your site!

I bought a subscription to Jodi's site specifically so I did not have to spend a large amount of time sifting through these forums to get all the information. I'm a complete newbie who is still studying for his state exam and I have no experience in the industry yet. I have no buyer's remorse for spending 50 bucks to see what works for some other guy. Open your site back up Jodi.

I've been away from this forum and I'm trying to get caught up. This thread did catch my eye. I've been away working and doing tons of catch up work. You know you guys have missed me. You will see tons of m post coming soon with new ideas for you to pick at. LOL

I'm willing to offer anyone free training and help. You do not have to sign up with any of my companies.

www.rosenthalfiles.com is just one of my free training websites that I don't promote on here until now.

I've trained a lot of agents on this forum, and I believe Jody was one of them that I helped. I'm glad to see that he has found his way or his niche. I've not looked at his website or saw which of my ideas or stuff was copied. I guess as long as I get the credit for my ideas or systems then it is okay with me.

I do think that is forum has a ton of resources on it and any new agents should take the time to go through some of the older post also and there is much to be learned from here.

This business is trial and error. No website or book can teach you everything you need to know alone. Just get out there and find your niche.

This busines is nothing but change and learning to change with it. You also have to love to read to make it in this business. DOn't be afraid to invest time, money and hard work into this. This is not a 9 to 5 normal job. You must love doing this to make it work.

Welcome Insurance Agents-RFS AUDIO TAPES Check out some of my free audio training tapes also.
