Getting Started in Med Supps

In my state you better be selling the lowest rate because there is no excuse no hiding behind possible rate increases as its a nonissue you just move them under a state law allowing them to go from 1 like plan to another or of lesser value...You can even play the GI game if thier health has gone down and they gambled with say a plan N move them to blue cross as they have no medical questions then a couple months later move them to a like plan.

Help! not sure where to start. :goofy:

Is Berwick Insurance Group a good place to start? I seen Health choice one mentioned quite a bit is this a good place for someone new to start? I've seen both of these on craigslits. How come when I search for jobs, I hardly see any medicare jobs but a fair amount of Fe?

Don't want to put Aflac down, but I am skeptical of any company that advertises and recruits the way they do. If I'm gonna go with the duck it'll most likely be for dinner.

I Just really want to get started now!!! I have read on this forum that newbies should have 3 months of bills saved up and that that others have. Hell, I barely have 3 days! 3 months.....yeah if I win the lotto or can generate at least 400 a week within the next 3 weeks. And that doesn't cover half of my bills but I would be able to manage for 2 months or so. friggin' California living. ;)

I had a family emergency and had to spend some time in England so I am currently without job. I am going nuts trying to figure all this out. I bring this up because I am wondering if I should get a job quickly selling cars, which I have done in the past and signup with a website such as medicaretraining101.com, MedicareAgentTraining.com and do this part time, until I have a solid understanding of what the heck I'm selling.

That being said, I would much rather do this full time workaholic style.

Please Help!!

I'm in the LA area. Let me know if I can help.

There may be opportunities you aren't aware of throughout California.

Rick

If your near Rick I would give him a call. He has a great lead piece he developed that he let's agents use, its great for SNPs, I don't hold the fact the carrier we were using in Maine got hit by CMS.

Norway guy has a great point. Here is the link to Medicare.gov for publications:

Medicare.gov - Publications - Search Criteria

There you can order the Medicare and You book and the Choosing a Medigap Policy (both are on the main page). You can download the PDF's right away and also order them in paper form for no cost (your taxes already paid for it).
