Health Sherpa New Portal For Agents Working On the Exchange

OK, I am confused.

If referrals are sent to HS but you and the client are the only ones getting the email, what is the purpose (of the referral)?

Let me be a little more clear. You (agent) get a responder from HSherpa with that info. It worried me at first, but what the client received was different. The client's email (was forwarded to me) only listed the agent info and agent contact. None of the referral verbiage was on the email that went to the client. I don't think they have that part corrected. Client email has a few policy details and other info. I think the agent should be cc'ed in the email the client gets.

They are an insurance agency. George Kalogeropoulos is licensed with Aetna, UHC, and Coventry here in NC. That is a worry with me also and why I am testing this very slowly. If they can ease my concerns regarding them having access to my client info, I would be happy to use them.

Come on, their not going to "steal" your clients. They've proven to be smarter than the average start up entity. They are smart to expand to the broker market to generate income on business they obviously are not getting now.

They need to make sure that their direct business files don't get commingled with broker's client files when they correspond in the future. Seen it too many times as a company gets too big, lose vision, and one department doesn't talk to the other departments.

Great info Russ.

If you have the determination letter, you have the app #, and can possibly retrieve the HC.gov app with the app #

Call me paranoid, but I will feel much more comfortable once I see it appear on the 834 correctly. You are correct, we could create an account on HC.gov and import the app over. As it is now, it does keep the client from going in a messing up an app after the fact (not that this has ever happened to me).

The account creation step is completely eliminated and it makes the process very fast. I have to tip my hat to them based on what I have seen so far. It would be a useful tool in the middle of AEP. I think the $25 per app makes it worthwhile.

Wonder why the marketplace does not put everything on 3 pages like they have done. I thought of that within the first day of taking apps in November of last year...

Could it be that HealthSherpa is using the same enrollment process that Healthcare.gov enrollers use when you phone in to the marketplace to apply? I only did this one time with a client (due to hc.gov being down), but was surprised that the HC.gov person didn't ask many questions. The more I thought about it afterwards, the more P.O.'d I got, because agents didn't have this capability. (But HHS/CMS says we're VALUABLE...yeah right.)

What about the recent announcement from HHS that they will not be utilizing non-FFM pathways to enrollment for 2015? Does this mean that HealthSherpa, EhealthInsurance, and Insurer pathways for obtaining subsidized coverage will be closed off?

was told by the sherp yesterday that they use the exact same process as FFM reps..... I was allowed to do a dummy practice app with some agent who requested me remove her name because they are fearful of golden throated lizards yesterday... slick as pig snot

If HHS felt agents brought value to the equation there never would have been a navigator program. Why do to the time, trouble and expense of hiring a bunch of numbnuts to enroll people in hc.flub when you have agents that work (essentially) for free.

Of course in several cases, the agent really did work for free.

HHS doesn't give a damn about agents. Never will.

I'm looking for as smooth as tequila....

Love that Sherpa works, but what are you seeing on the FFM and the carrier side?

KGMom, evidence is mounting in HealthSherpa's favor. Looking more promising now that we have some trusted beta testers. Now, all we need is to see what you mentioned. That's where the pig snot meets the rubber.

UPDATE:
The client my buddy ran through Healthsherpa has yet to show up on the 834 report from the carrier.

Background: He used healthsherpa previously for leads (received a few). When he signed up with healthsherpa in 2013, he was asked to provide his NPN. Now for some reason, Healthsherpa has his NPN as blank on his dashboard. There is no way to edit the NPN from the settings menu. Not sure why the NPN did not transfer over. He thinks the NPN was not attached to the file and the reason it is not showing up on his 834. He has tried to contact healthsherpa, but has not had any luck at this point.

On Monday, he will contact the carrier to see if the client has enrolled. If so, he will take client through HC.gov.

My NPN number is also showing up as blank on my login dashboard, so I can attest to the NPN not transferring over correctly.
