Health Sherpa New Portal For Agents Working On the Exchange

We have received an email from Ning Liang at Healthsherpa stating that they are planning on creating links that brokers can forward to the client with our NPN/info imbedded. They hope to have it ready by AEP.

UPDATE: Review of Healthsherpa (reprint of review on other HS thread)

Thursday I submitted my second app through HealthSherpa (HS). This one was not an immediate enrollment and it leaves me questioning the use of the site during AEP.

The first app went through almost immediately. As soon as I finished submitting the app on HS, I was asked the 4 security questions for my client. Two hours later, client received a jpeg of the app and a pdf of the eligibility. Nice and smooth.

The second app did not switch over to the 4 security questions immediately. There was a span of about 29 hours before the client received her confirmation she was enrolled.

Not knowing how often you will have to wait 24 hours for approval is not worth the 30 minutes you save by not using HC.gov. With HC.gov at least you know your clients are enrolled and you can proceed to payment with carrier. Having the client wait for approval is not something I want to do. It feels like it makes more work on this second app. Now I have to reconnect to the client for payment and wait for the carrier to get client's info on their system.

Unfortunately, this second app has me questioning how often I will use HS.

RussellTW, thanks for the on-going feedback to all of us. It is appreciated! Also, be sure to share your experience(s) and sentiments with the Health Sherpa owners/administrators. If they truly want to earn $25 x thousands of applications, they'll modify and adjust quickly, as needed.

Ning from HealthSherpa here - I wanted to address some of the points quickly:

1) Up to 1 day delay in enrollment. Currently, most of our apps go through within the same business day, usually within a few hours. We are working on solving the cases where we hit bumps in the road during Special Enrollment.

During Open Enrollment, we use a different process where most of these bumps go away. This past Open Enrollment, we were able to process most applications within 1 hour.

2) We have briefed CMS on both variants of our process. They were encouraging on the progress we've made with the enrollment user experience.

3) The public facing link will be available during Open Enrollment - development is completed but we are holding off until OEP to release.

4) We are looking at building other tools to facilitate group business, including a tool for employers to manage plans and costs for their insured population. If you are interested in these tools, please send me an email at ning AT healthsherpa DOT com.

Thank you for the feedback so far - we will continue to improve on the product based on what you guys feel will give you the most value.

Cheers,
Ning

I would really love a personal link so customers across the state can apply without waiting for me to reach them.

this client facing link need to be out well before oep so we can integrate it on our websites and advertising.... don't drop this link the day before ope... you will piss me off

The less costly (but just as effective) alternative is still in the works, is it not?
