I have an interview tomorrow with Amerilife. Does anyone happen to have any information about this company? I have tried doing research, but haven't been able to find much on them. I was told that they provide leads and preset appointments. Also, I have been contacted by Insuramerica, any information on them would be helpful.

For whatever reason Ameriprise is not too popular among producers and IMO consumers. Never heard they gave you preset appts. If you're going to be captive why don't you work for a name brand like NYL (I don't work for them)? Everybody's heard of NYL.

Amerilife and Ameriprise are two different organizations. Ameriprise is a financial planning company and Amerilife is an FMO like Parker.
Missdlaw, I'd strongly recommend you take a look at some of the other posts on here about choosing an FMO so you at least know what questions to ask. I would especially focus on reading posts about Parker and Associates; most Amerilife agents have similar complaints Parker agents have. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you want more information about them or any other FMO.

First off it's a captive outfit, should you want to leave, you leave your clients there too. If you want to be able to offer good products that you have researched, have good commissions and your own clients, don't go there!!

From the amerilife agents I know, they are getting pre set appointments, almost to many right now, but I think atleast half of them are a bust.

I left Amerilife about 3 years ago. Don't even give them the time of day. What has already been posted is mostly correct.
