IE9 Problem

Can anybody help with an IE9 problem I have? I downloaded IE9 through yahoo. Now I can't use IE at all. Can I uninstall the update then download it through Microsoft? :goofy:

Thanks!

Yes.

Then use Firefox. When possible.

Is firefox that much better? I'm using chrome right now & like the fact that it's much faster than IE. I was on a website that didn't use anything except IE. That's where I ran into a problem!

Thanks

Speaking of Firefox...when I use it, I have to exit out of everything and go back in every hour. The CPU thing goes to about 400,000 and it gets so slow.

Of course, I have CA Security and I heard that really slows you down.

In my experience, Firefox kicks butt over anything IE. Sadly, some carrier sites only function properly on IE. I haven't had a reason to try Chrome although i've heard good things. Hmmm... I believe we are both saying pretty much the same thing.

Maybe more in response to your initial question, Carol: I d/l'd IE9 a couple of weeks ago and MoO's site did not run properly through it. I uninstalled it and defaulted to whatever stupidly slow IE I had before. IE8, I guess. <shrug> So yes, you can do it.

In comparison for me I found that chrome beats anything for normal use but I do still keep firefox on the system for the toolbars I use when working on websites.

Firefox and Chrome are faster than IE, plus Firefox has a number of add-ons to aid your web browsing experience that IE doesn't have.

Why a sitewould hitch their wagon to IE is beyond me, because of the speed and security issues that pop-up from time to time.

I only use IE to make sure my sites display correctly, other than that, Firefox (main) or Chrome.

Clicking to launch a brower:

Chrome: "Hey, I got clicked - launch!"

Firefox: "Did someone just click me? Oh, launch!"

Explorer: "Wait...did someone just try to launch me? Let's think about it....I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to launch now but there's a bunch of stuff I have to think about first. Oh, wait, I'm being clicked on a few more times so I guess I'd better launch."

I have had issues with IE9 on the Humana site. Notably, PDF documents won't resolve.

Out of frustration I logged in to the Humana site with FF. Not only did the site load faster but I had no problem viewing PDF documents (applications, riders, commission statements, etc). For chuckles and grins I also created proposals on AWB.

Have not tried completing an application.

I use Chrome most of the time. Only issue is the memory hog when multiple tabs are open and it stores everything in history files that need to be deleted on a weekly basis.

The only real issue with chrome is that it has come up with these messages-"google gears has crashed" or "shockwave has crashed.

I decided to stay with IE8 & am going to check out FF.
