Not that long ago, I mentioned in a post that I would be reviewing a new lead company. About a month ago, I signed up with INSURANCELEADZ.COM, a company based about an hour from my office.

They generously gave me a $100 credit for the purchase of health insurance leads. My completely unbiased synopsis appears below:

Price- $13 for shared lead. Major illnesses appear to be filtered, but most others appear (mental illness, asthma, allergies etc...) Company is new so not that many competing agents.

Accuracy of Information- More than half of the leads have contained inaccurate contact or medical information.

Number of available leads- Hard to say since I have chosen a very small area.

Affiliate use- Hard to say at this point, but it is very possible. One concern is where this company's sites appear on the search engines.

Conclusion and grade: Considering that I have not received many leads yet, it is difficult to assign a final grade. I'll give them an incomplete at this point. I will be interested in hearing what others think, if they sign up.

I also signed up with them on the P&C side. So far, about 6 weeks, I've gotten 3 leads total. This is in a fairly robust area.

My concern is that I think they have been in business longer than you give them credit for. If I understand correctly, they have been in the lead 'wholesale' business for a while (a polite way of saying affiliate). They are attempting to move from this model to a direct sales model.

So far it hasn't cost me anything, so I'm not to worried. Nothing gained from it, but then, not enough leads to give it a fair try. Of course, when I started with them, I told them I wanted 10 leads a day, which they said they could do in my territory. So far, they are on track for 10 leads a year.

I don't see how anyone can make money at $13 per shared lead...

The worst experience I had this year was Hometownquotes - horrible leads, worst we have ever experienced in many years in this business. The people at the company were nice to deal with despite my calling their bluff on junk leads they were professional.

I appreciate your review, I haven't heard any reviews of them to date...

I have only used Hometown for 1 month but so far they have been decent, 2 sales out of 15 leads and they matched my initial $100 deposit. Credits are slow but generally fair. What was your major problem with them?

What was your major problem with them?

The leads are complete junk, fake, not real, not interested - they must have a fishy affiliate program - not sure.

We worked I think around 200 leads - maybe 30/40 per day ZERO sales, and no one works the phones like we do - we do over 50,000 dials/month I can tell you we hammer like no ones business on the phones.

I found the leads to be sub standard quality all around.

The company everyone was nice to deal with - I will say that...

Huh, well I am up to 20 leads right now and while some have been junk (they did credit them) I have had 2 sales and I am working on a 3rd. I'll let ya know as I get closer to 50+ leads if it keeps being decent...

As long as they credit for bad stuff, fine. When they aren't reasonable time to go. just dropped quotes auction. I will not pay for HAL voice mails that repeat the number. Especially when you check a bit deeper and find the number isn't the leads?

Their answer to HAL? if it picks up, it's valid. no sorry bye.

Hometown has been ok for me, almost a year and I am writing business off their leads. More often it takes a while. They are pretty decent about being reasonable too. If I show them I looked and tried and still can't confirm the lead, they've credited it.
