Move from ICA to FMO Contract with UHC?

If you are contracted with United I assume you know what this means

I am contracted as an ICA and have been for years--but the new ICA agent manager is someone NO one can get along with, and there is no other spot for her to advance/transfer to---so she will be around for a long time.

Im told that FMO agents also get UHC Medicare leads supplied to them, just like ICA agents. So not sure what advantage, if any, there is to being an ICA now?

Anyone moved from ICA to FMO? Did you find an IMO you'd recommend?

Thanks

FMO agents will rarely see leads if there are ICA's in the same market. If the manager is as big of pain as you say, good luck.

Thank you!...............

Cogent, on-topic, succinct replies are VERY much appreciated

Hi,
I recruit agents throughout the country and we are always contracting United ICA's that are not happy with their current situation. The leads are becoming fewer and farther between! As an agent, why restrict yourself to only one company? You are a more valuable agent to your clients and to yourself if you are able to offer all the carriers as an independent. In some cases you will find yourself between a rock and a hard place if a large provider group leaves the network and all your clients jump ship! Don't wait until then to rethink being captive. Being a captive agent is great for the carrier, not for the career agent.

Moving from ICA to FMO the leads will stop. You may be able to get back to the bconnected system but that will depend on your relationship with the manager, sales director, regional vp, vp, etc. The UHC hierarchy is so deep that you need to be on many good sides to receive leads and only 1 badside to be black listed.

Hi there,
Lead support will depend on the region and what SGA/FMO you go through. We are able to supply UHC leads to our agents in one of our states. Let me know what state you are in because we may be able to help you.

Hello AgntX. Wondering why you said leads are getting fewer and farther between.

Was gonna "ax" him but--its his FIRST post ever and if he is an IMO Im guessing he would ID himself?

Ya would LOVE to get with UHC's #1 Medicare IMO!

They are called NMO's in the UHC world. There are between 10 and 20. I am sure most recruiters here can help you as being number 1 doesn't pay any more than last place on the NMO list. I am none of those things, but will shoot you straight. Go with the best support, not the one who claims to be #1.

well meaning Number one would get more FMO leads outa them

So far no one has responded that seems to know the UHC game so...I sit and wait
