New Agent Need help signing up with GA/MGA

Mark,

I noticed you said you have three people ready to work for you. You have to ask yourself if you are ready to train and support those people. Initially, you will make a lot more money in personal production as opposed to overrides. If you don't know what your doing when will spend more time answering questions than you will producing. Besides, you may not be able to give them the full opportunity they deserve. I know many here will disagree, but if you want to start recruiting right away, you need to join an organization that has a training program that will support them, ala NAA. But I suggest you learn the business first, then recruit.

I get worried when all I see is a commission percentage. I'm more concerned about helping my clients find the lowest rates.

I'd much rather receive 90% if the company I recommend is much lower in price than another carrier where I can get 120%. I sleep much better when I don't worry about screwing my client.

If you are going post an offer of amazingly high commissions, you really need to let us know the carrier. If it's Banner, West Coast, etc. then you'll have everyone beating a path to your door. If it's some high priced carrier, then you're only going to attract used car salesmen.

Sorry,

I will not risk losing my contract. You are going to have to do some research. I would recommend at least looking at the web site.
Commission above street level cannot be published publicly. You should check things out before you talk outside of your pay grade. If you are happy making 90% and you could get 115% to 120% with the same company and choose not to. Well like I always say (I cannot fix stupid).

Then that's all you have to say. "Contracts above street." Not "120%."

If you can get more dough with the same company without giving anything up, then I agree with you. It just seems when people post very high commisisons, there usually is a rip-off for the client on the horizon.

As per Lee's suggestion, I did go to his website http://www.leebenhamassociates.com/ and in addition gave him a call.

As everyone here knows, I'm very quick to yell and scream at idiots and people trying to scam us.

There is no scam here (so I can't yell and scream). He does offer much higher than street commissions on the same carriers we use and like. He is the real deal and I enjoyed our conversation.

We also discussed a marketing idea which I think I'll try. Relatively low cost and a potentially decent return.

Lee did tell me that he can't post specific commissions for each carrier but they are on the website for all to see (password protected).

If you're looking for a better commission deal on life insurance, Lee may very well be a great option.

Rick,

Thank you for the phone call it was a pleasure talking to you. I do want to apologize for being a little short with you on my previous post. I am going to blame it on the financial downfall of the U.S. I was listing to when I was typing it.

Thanks again

Lee
