Out of these...what are the best in TX?

and unicare is $184......it really depends on were you are in the state......Celtic was a player 3 years ago......looks like they want to play again.......and humana is hanging in like a booger....Just had someone declined by them but then again so did Aetna and I have a client with some risk that I am putting in with both to see how gives them the best deal....

aetna $173
unicare $135
assurant $123.22
humana $113
united $130.07
BCBS $122
celtic $127.58

$123 w/ Assurant. WOW!!! I thought there rates were very high in texas.

It all depends where you are in Texas... In my zip code 79109 Assurant can be fairly competitive depending upon the prospect. GR doesn't appear to be, but I'm gonna say no to Aetna in 79109 as well.

What about quality? What are some individual TX plans to stay away from? I have heard some agents here speak of drug caps on paticular plans, but have not yet seen them on the plans I am quoting. I know MEGA (yech!) has drug caps, but I believe they were referring to other carriers available to independents. I want to do the right thing for my clients.

what are you quoting...............

Keep in mind I have only quoted about 5-6 people, so my experience is not too deep. But so far I have quoted Unicare Consumers Choice and Fit plans, as well as Humana One plans. I have tried to stay away from anything that has the word 'saver' in it...

well the Consumers Choice has state mandate benefits written out so I do not sell those plans....the humana one has a co insurance on all family members(even if there are 7 people on the plan) not like other plans 2 per family....now BCBS and Aetna have capps on rx.......

We're getting to "it is what it is." Most of the indie coverage in my state has holes you can drive a truck through - especially for major events. Group is no better. Client I'm working with now only has a 50% coinsurance on drugs - no copay and has a group plan. When I left Towson BMW they changed their group plans to no prescription coverage, only a discount. Now that I'm in health I see how they got away with that since supposedly the mandates protect people....it's called ERISA.

Wow. So what do you sell from Uni...just the Fit plans? What about their new 'Sound' plans?

Looks like Humana is that way on all their individual plans...yikes! Better to sell those to family of no more than two...I reckon.

Do all BCBS and Aetna plans have rx caps?
