How fast does UHC pay out MAPD commissions. They have been an absolute PITA to work with so im not expecting them anytime soon. The policy was approved august 30th 2013 and effective sept 1st 2013. Its now almost the 7th and I still haven't seen anything...

I just got a check Wednesday for some deals that had an 8-1 effective. They pay real sloooooooooo

I wrote 2 med supps last week and got paid in 3 or 4 days, MAPD usually about a week to 10 days depending on how long it takes CMS

Oh no....one week and no commission? Tons of companies pay once a month and Pup only pays the month after the plan is effective once a month. Usually a couple weeks is the norm but sometimes even longer and IMO UHC is usually the fastest

UHC/CIP take about two-three weeks on the initial and if there is a true up it's the first week of the following month.

As with any company, and especially MA companies on commissions~~~you MUST check weekly on these and you're going to have to spend time calling and checking your records.

I call almost every other week about issues with my commissions from MA stuff.

They're worth the effort and you're leaving sales on the table if you don't want to sell it. I agree, it's a pain in the ass, but you're losing out. Just my opinion of course.

MA has (because of compliance and CMS issues) more issues than other types of insurance but it's all the same in the end. Companies make mistakes and you have to follow up with them. I put my clients folders on my desk who are approved. I don't file them in the cabinet or on my computer unless I've been paid on them. If they sit there for more than two weeks I'm calling the company.

Not hard. Just allocate time to do so each week.

what a pain the arse! Im quickly finding out that mapd plans almost not worth the effort.

So waiting for a commission on a product that has amazing persistency is a pain in the ass, maybe you should just refer out the business. It certainly doesn't pay as fast as final expense, but in my experience everyone except coventry seems to pay in a reasonable time frame, which doesn't differ much from MA to med supp.
