UHC MAPD Commissions

UHC/CIP take about two-three weeks on the initial and if there is a true up it's the first week of the following month.

As with any company, and especially MA companies on commissions~~~you MUST check weekly on these and you're going to have to spend time calling and checking your records.

I call almost every other week about issues with my commissions from MA stuff.

This is what I was referring to in post#3. UHC/CIP commissions are slow. Jimmy says coventry is real slow so that's one I won't be offering anytime soon. I heard about an MA that pays by bank deposit 2 days after submit if u use ipad, might check that out.

My bills come faster than the MA commission checks.

Coventry is about the same except you really have to keep on them, especially on true up's. That said they have some of the better MA plans (here in Missouri) and your renewals won't go away anytime soon.

Last year it took them until Feb to pay me true up's from apps I wrote Oct 15th. The whole Aetna thing with them really caused a lot of trouble. This year I'm assured they are much more equipped and ready for 2014 AEP.

The big thing that really turns me off about UHC is the process for Dual SNP Mapd applicaiton. Apparently the Medicare complete Dual Snp department does not take agent calls so they have to submit a service request that will be resolved within 72 if you want to check on an application.

I just got contracted with Cigna Healthspring, im hoping they have a better process in place than UHC but I seriously doubt they will. :nah:

Don't you login into www.unitedhealthproducers.com ?

There should be a link for applications/enrollments. I've never had to leave a message for anyone about an application with UHC.

Doesn't sound right.

If you think UHC is bad, try Anthem. I didn't even see a check from them from last year's AEP until like March. Everyone is better than that! Aetna pays right away followed by UHC.
You do have to keep track of everything for every company. I've been on the phone with all of them to get my commissions right at one time or another.

All I write is UHC and have no probs at all with comm.
I do all paper apps too!!

Yes according to the help desk dual eligible mapd snp community plans do not show up on any of the reports and you can not speak directly to anyone that handles those apps. Any time I wanted check on the app they had to submit a service request. This was the first mapd plan I had ever written
by the way, it was quite a wake up call after just leaving a captive medsup company last month. now im finding out it could take up to 13 days to see the commission...:skeptical:

You need to ask for a supervisor because I have never, ever had that issue.

You may have left a captive place but they are fronting you the money and then taking half you commission. It's like going to get a loan for a 500% interest rate. You made the right choice.

Use CSG Actuarial, find the MA plans in the area's you're working and find the contracts. Everything is going to be new to you. Come here and ask the questions. You'll get the answers you need.

I've been coming here since my first day in the business 5yrs ago. The people on this forum have been always been a huge help. Sure you get some bullshit responses but when you read between the lines and sarcastic comments there is alot to be learned here. Its kinda like internet leads, the good 20% pays for the bad 80%.
