What Title Should I Use on My Business Card?

Business cards are almost obsolete, but not competely when it comes to networking at least. The title though is important for your email signature and even more so if you are of an important role. I like Owner. Mine is Co-Owner/Licensed Broker. If you are an owner, people like to know they are talking to the big guy, or girl in my case ;)
Except your not the "Big Guy" unlike many businesses we have no control over much of our business ie rates, underwriting etc are under the control of the carrier.

I have an acquaintance that gave me his new business card a few weeks ago, with a company that he supposedly works for, but no title. The guy inherited a bunch of money, young, and hasn't had a job in years.

The owner gave him a "made up" job, with no title and no salary, but allowed him to have cards printed up with the company name and logo.

He is a real life version of Kramer, but doesn't care, it makes it even funnier. He has an enjoyable personality, so the owner figured free advertising. If someone gives me a business card with no title, I'll assume they're "Kramer".

No matter how big your title is I assume you're Kramer till you prove otherwise.

Some of the dumbest people I ever met were vps and presidents at a large corporation.

No, we don't control rates, but at face value many prospects don't know they get the same rate with a broker as the carrier direct. This, however, is not my point. My point is simply people like to talk to the owner, a.k.a. the person they perceive as the most dependable or knowledgeable, available in the company. I believe this rings true in any line of business, not just in reference to insurance.
