Use the root that allows you to unroot. If you're too scared to root then just pay for a hotspot.

I pay for the sprint insurance. The techs there told me the insurance is different than the warranty. They will work on the phone.

try barnacle from android store it works wonders but it needs to be rooted.

if you dont root your phone i hear people can track tethering now so they will cancel your plan or hit you with a big surcharge

barnacle usually needs to have a rooted phone to begin with, same thing with "wireless tether for root users".

If you can live with a usb connection, pdanet is a good choice too.

I really would like to have a mobile hotspot with me too, and don't feel like investing another $30 or $50 bucks a month in an air card.

I know, I know, sell one more policy and it pays for itself....but I'm already being Granted to death with expenses and I really need to cut costs somewhere. Thanks.

The equivalent for an iPhone is jailbreak. But Androids rock. (They can actually be used for phone calls).

Or better yet. Sell the iphone and buy a new droid. And a pay the cell bill for a couple months with the proceeds. sorry.

I can just pay $20 a month and make my cell a wifi hotspot.

I just like getting stuff for free.
