Bcbs wait time

from a calie friend..............

Ian Logan and I were one of the families this week that got screwed by Blue Cross (our health insurance co for over 17 years) They cancelled our plan (for changes due to Obama Care) and put us on another one. OK fine. We paid our huge monthly premium and they cashed it like usual. All seemed normal until Ian had to go to the Urgent Care late Saturday night. He was told we didn't have insurance! Blue Cross was closed so no help there. When I called Monday AM the wait time (I kid you not) was OVER 10 HOURS. I punched in my cell # and 7 hrs later someone called me back - I was put on hold for 30 mins and given to wrong department. Finally got a supervisor after 1 hr and was told - "you still have a policy, its the same # as before BUT pharmacies, Dr's & hospitals have not had their servers updated by us yet so they will have to call Blue Cross each time you need a prescription or a visit until we get it fixed - hopefully in a few weeks - if we are not open you can PAY for your visit etc and we will reimburse you back at a later date. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?? No discount for January for lack of service either - I got no where so what did I do? I contacted writer Steve Lopez at the LA Times. Blue Cross has known Obama Care was coming - they jacked up rates on existing insured and did NOTHING to make the transition easy for their customers. Shame on you Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Glad the LA Times exposed what millions of us are going through on the front page today.

Florida and ours announced yesterday until Jan 28th. I am already having people call and say I don't want the plan anymore if I can't use it in January. I say too bad.:D:D

Texas (and I am assuming Illinois) are waiving the fee. And if you paid it, they will issue you a refund. In 4-6 weeks? Months? Years? They way they are going it may BE years. :D

We all get way too many emails. But they are really trying with the "News for the Blues". I am actually reading them carefully. My lips move and everything.
