Final Expense

I may be wrong on this but don't you do nothing more than run the DM lead dept for SL? That's what you told me when we talked on the phone and you offered me the DM program you listed in the offers section. I'm confused because you post like you work in the field but that's not really the case.

Easy there! I'm starting to believe that he's the REAL deal! After all, he's like the main guy at the biggest insurance company in the world.

Jack Londen gets his coffee and walks his dog for him.

He is offering leads but I don't know why anyone would purchase from him...

Ya I wouldn't when I found out SL was involved but before I knew that I called and asked for him and was told he runs the lead dept nothing more. He isn't a agent or a recruiter or a manager he is a lead order taker.

I wonder if they keep the hard copy of the DM and give them to their SL agents to run also.

He's not going to answer u with ANY proof....ever notice all he does is ask everyone for proof of everything he wants to know, but when hes asked anything...he ignores the post!

I am currently selling Med Supp and Rx plans I am working on the phones and do well for the company I work for. I average 5 sales a day on the phones, and take about 20 calls/day. I am currently licensed in all states and am thinking of going independent sometime this year after I get a couple of bills paid off. I am thinking of selling FE & possibly Med Supp. I am excited and learning all I can from this forum. Thank you all for all of the advise and information you share. You are a wealth of information.

I actually am in the opposite position. Doing FE and looking to add Med Supp. Would you mind sharing some information with me in terms of what you did ( do ) and how to set it up? Be glad to share anything that can help you from my FE experience....Fairly new user to this forum but have been reading off and on for awhile and figuring out how to get involved a bit. Was a little reluctant as it can be a tough crowd at times on these forums....;)

You must not have gotten the message this is the NEW forum.. It is kinder and gentler.. Even Rick now loves everybody..

You should have med sups and ask the FE prospects who they have their med sup with. But you will find that the FE market and the med sup are two different animals.

The FE folks are MA people, not med sup.

I am working for a very large company selling Med Supp, Rx and HIP plans over the phone to inbound callers. The best thing I would think is to learn your plans, the ones the co you are appointed with, learn the deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance for each plan. It is so confusing to people, you will be their hero :). The biggest thing I do really is educate the caller. I always start off with explaining Plan F, then Plan N, and finally Plan K. So I give high, med and low in premium and we go from there. Of course that is if they do not want Plan F or Plan N. The thing to remember about Plan L is that it has a 24500 out of pocket max, it pays 75% and the client pays 25% of Part deductible and co-pays, 5% of office visits, they pay Part B excess and Part B ded. If they pay the out of pocket max, then L pays in full (like F) ecxept the Part B excess. Pkan K is the same, just double. Probably TMI. I do that sometimes, you probably already know that about K and L.

JD's post is correct. I do a lot of volunteering at our local church. Last evening, a lady who attends a neighboring church, pulled into the parking lot, she saw me outside. After walking over, "Mr. McKenzie will you pray for my husband?" ... He has leukemia, she was broken with tears in her eyes.

Helping people with FE is not volunteer work.

No it isn't. I am glad you were there to help her.

I love the fact that a byproduct of what we do is helping people. And I do help other agents all the time.

The driving force for my being in this business is not to help people. That apparently sounds harsher in print than my intent but it is what it is.

Making money is the driving force for me to work as well, thought that was a given ;).

Wow! I feel truly humbled now. I never thought about this before. All of the following people have accomplished more in life then me.
1. Benjamin Franklin
2. The agent that started Globe Life Ins. Company
3. The founder of General Motors
4. The agent that founded AARP (he also founded Colonial Penn Life Insurance)
5. The agent that founded Settlers Life Insurance Company
6. Abraham Lincoln
7. The agent that started Lincoln Heritage
8. The agent that started Senior Life
9. The agent that started Oxford Life
10. Bill Gates
11. Millions and millions of other people

I must lock my doors and close up shop now. I have nothing to offer society. I have not built an empire. I was satisfied being a lonely one man circus. I should be squashed like a bug.

I feel like such a loser!

No agent founded AARP. The lady who did found AARP was a retired teacher.

And the med supp are pre-need people, is that right?

AARP would like you to believe that but history can't be changed. This website gives both stories of their beginnings. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AARP

Believe what you want but the indisputable facts are:

1. 60-Minutes DID expose AARP as a sales gimmick for Colonial Penn to sell over priced insurance to seniors in the late 1970s

2. The government did step in and break up Colonial Penn and AARP into two separate companies and doesn't allow them to do business together any more.

3. All the history books that are printed on the subject tell the version of Colonial Penn starting AARP by copying the AART which had been started by the lady that you are talking about.

4. Andy Rooney went to his grave saying he broke up AARP. He told of this in several of his books.
