Has anyone had trouble getting their Med Sups processed in a "timely" manner? They seem to be taking forever. Just venting.

Call them - they may be waiting on a HIPAA form for your open enrollment clients. Not that I'm speaking from experience...

When you need to tell underwriters what is required...

Told us they are "working overtime" all weekend to get their "5-1-11" effective dates finished.

I don't think we will be talking about forethought medsupps in a couple of years.

We can relate to longer than expected wait time for applications to be issued!

Although it IS very frustrating, this certainly isn't the first time that a 'newer' company takes a bit to get rolling with issue times. The same thing happened with Gerber, Sentinel, and Family Life, just to mention a few carriers within the last year.

We expect that Forethought will get their issue times resolved shortly, and things should operate very smoothly soon.

One word of advice to shorten the time you might wait, is to verify that all applications are complete, and there are no outstanding requirements. Unlike some other companies, Forethought will not begin the underwriting process AT ALL, until there are NO outstanding requirements. We ran into a couple problems with a handful of applications that we thought were being processed, however were just sitting in a Que waiting for outstanding information. Underwriting was delayed 7-10 days before we found the problem.

If you have any other questions that we might be able to help with on Forethought Med Supps, please don't hesitate to ask!

They seem to be able to handle T65 when no underwriting is needed.

They are having problems with fully undwritten plans. I faxed them a policy 4/08 but no decision yet. I advised them a week ago of clients cell phone. I called today and they said they have the number but they can't tell if the underwriter has it or not. :swoon:

Forethought is very bad at letting the agent know about any outstanding requirements. I advise if you haven't done so already get set up on their agent portal. https://www.aiatpa.com/Login.aspx . This is different than the normal Forethought.com login. They are also behind on underwritten business, but if you stay on top of them they seem to issue things much quicker.

Apparently Forethought isn't just slow on issuing policies. I sent in my contracting paperwork on 3/29 and STILL no contract.

Ridiculous, I say.

They are rude as well. I'll say it again, this company will not be relevant in the medicare supplement market in two years. Very disappointed at the way this company conducts themselves.

If they are having so many issues, and there are 10 other companies with rates similar, why are people still writing their plans?

Companies that don't treat the broker-agents well deserve what they get...
