GoodRx - What's the catch?

For those of you who do not know, there is now a new competitor to GoodRx who actually will pay the agent/broker a small fee on each "paid" prescription that is filled ($0 if the Rx is free). We are using it with some of our worksite employee plans. The companies can actually set up a co-branded card or smartphone app with their name and give the employees a free benefit. We've been working with businesses, schools, churches, and chambers of commerce to offer it as a free benefit and with the co-branded cards or app and it provides advertising for the business along with savings to the employees. It costs nothing to you or the business (unless you print some cards to pass out), the app is free. Lots of marketing materials you can print and your own site/page to track your fees as they come in from the people who fill a paid prescription. Instead of spending big bucks to advertise like GoodRx this company is using the broker/agent market to spread the word. If you'd like to know more about the program and what they'll pay you, send me an email at normmitchell@benefitsenroller.com and I'll send you a packet of information. And by the way, it is not the company posted by others.

Just post info here Norm . . .

I usually check goodrx first, but it is not always the cheapest these days.

Just google the medication along with "prescription discount card" or "rx discount card" etc. and you will get 10 different rx discount card options for that medication.

It takes just a few extra minutes to shop the top results, and there can be a very large difference between networks for some meds.

What is the one you mentioned that pays $2.50?

I'm not going to use them anymore. Their pricing has gotten higher.

I joined RXgo with Jeremy. He has a solid program. Doesn't pay as much - but, I believe more scripts will be filled.

In our Call Center - going to use the " Receive your "Free" quote for affordable Final Expense Insurance today and we'll send you a "Free" Discount Prescription Card that could save your Hundreds or Thousands of dollars every year! "

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Although we pay a bit less many more of our transactions are actually payable so in the long run you are likely to earn more from us.

I'd be happy to hop on a phone call with anyone to explain things in a bit more detail, just message me and we can set something up.

What's the catch?

I don't think anyone answered the actual question, but if they did, I apologize for the duplicate answer.

The catch is that none of it goes toward any of the deductibles, donut hole, or catastrophic coverage. In fact if they use GoodRx, it won't show up on Medicare.gov either.

So go ahead and tell your clients about GoodRx, HoneyBee Health, the plans that pay you a referral fee, whatever. But be sure to let them know that none of it "counts" toward their drug plan or you could be opening yourself up to a lawsuit.

And be sure to document that you did.
